There are three main beaches on Lipe: Pattaya Beach is the most popular. Most of the main resorts bars and restaurants border Pattaya Beach. Sunrise Beach has fewer facilities and is less crowded than Pattaya Beach. It is the perfect place for relaxed holidays. Sunset Beach is the most quiet and offers spectacular late-afternoon view.

Koh Lipe’s main beach is a large sheltered bay with fine white sand and crystal-clear blue water. There are a dozens of bars and restaurants on the beach or in the Walking Street. During High Season Pattaya Beach can get very busy but the other beaches are only a 15 minutes walk away, so it is easy to escape the crowds.
During Green Season, as the wind comes from the south, Pattaya Beach is not protected from the waves. Therefore most of the restaurants along the beach are closed at that period.

Sunrise Beach is a long stretch of sand in a wide but shallow bay. It’s protected from the monsoon weather during Green Season and has a pleasant breeze on hot days in Dry Season. There is very good snorkeling directly from the beach. Accommodation is more spread out than on Pattaya Beach and some very laid back beach restaurants border the sea. Sunrise Beach, as its name states it, is the perfect place to enjoy amazing sunrise view. Coco Beach Bungalows is located on Sunrise Beach. Sunrise Beach is definitely the best place to be on the island.

Sunset is a series of small beaches with shollow water and great reefs. Each beach is a perfect place to watch the sunset. Peaceful and laid-back, there are a few nice bars to eat and drink in the area.

When to come to Lipe ?
Koh Lipe is open all year around. Our High Season is from October until May. Our Green season is from June until September. Peak Season is from mid-December to end of March.
Boats from Pak Bara run all year round.
Boats from Phuket or Langkawi run between from October to May.

Wifi is available for free at our resort. The service can sometimes be slow as it works with satellite. There are internet cafes on the island if you need to use a computer.
We accept credit cards payments at our resort and at our restaurant. (+3% service charge for Coco Beach Bungalows guests, +5% service charge for other visitors.)
Since last year, the island is equipped with several ATMs. Now, it is no longer necessary to come to Lipe carrying large sums of cash. Keep in mind that there is a daily withdrawal limit of 20’000 baht.

A small health centre is located next to the school, on Sunrise Beach. There is a doctor who speaks English and a nurse. It has a basic stock of medical supplies and can provide first aid. There are 2 clinics as well, clinics offer western standards and western prices but they will provide you documents to get a refund from your insurance.
In case of emergency, the doctor and the nurse can organise a transfer to the mainland by speedboat. Speedboats are available for emergency 24/7.
There is a bigger heath centre/clinic in the walking street.

There are many well-stocked pharmacies: one in the middle of Walking Street near the 7/11, one close to Sunrise Beach next to Harmony Bakery and a few more along the walking street. They speak English and are knowledgeable.
